Roark builds frames one at a time with the same precision and technology we use to craft aerospace components. You won’t find inventory here or in any other shop. Your Roark is created specifically for you. When we’re finished, your name will be etched into the frame, along with the serial number. At that moment, you’ll own the only one of its kind in the world.

The Roark Classic Frame is aptly named since it is built with round tubing throughout - just like the first frame we built over 10 years ago. We tailor each frame to suit the rider and his/her type of riding. Not only is the geometry custom - we also select specific tubing sizes and wall thickness to fine tune the frame to your needs.

ROARK _ AERO FRAME

With Roark, you have an option. One step above our Classic Frame, you will find our Aero Frame - all the good looks and simplicity of the Classic but with an aero down tube.

Unlike most titanium aero tubing, Roark down tubes have a distinct aero teardrop design. This shape is very difficult to achieve in titanium but with our aerospace background, it comes easy. While the aerodynamics of the down tube is important, this tube is also a critical element to frame rigidity. The teardrop shape terminates into a round profile that is 1-3/4” diameter creating a very rigid connection to the bottom bracket shell. This transitional shape cuts through the wind and insures that every pedal stroke transmits maximum power.

The Roark Aero is quickly becoming our most popular frame. With the simple addition of the aero down tube, this frame takes on a new look that is favored by road riders and multisport athletes. Good looks and aerodynamic improvements for a small price increase.

ROARK _ FULL AERO FRAME

Wow… It is by far the stealthiest looking titanium frame on the planet!!! The Roark full aero frame uses the same aero down tube as showcased on the aero model. The next pièce de résistance is the aero seat tube. We have a rear wheel cutout that has been referred to as “a fabricated piece of art”. Instead of welding a flat plate on the back of the seat tube, we have utilized a slice of tubing which provides a concave shape for the wheel to tuck into. This design allows the seat tube to closely shroud the tire, creating a maximum aero advantage without the need for troublesome horizontal dropouts.

The next item that will catch your eye is the seat tube clamp. We are often asked “how did you do that?” The answer – we use a billet seat tube cap. The seat tube is comprised of two pieces – a billet cap that is pressed and welded into the seat tube. This cap starts out as a 2-1/2” diameter chunk of billet titanium that is machined into shape on our CNC milling equipment. During this process not only do we shape it to match the seat tube profile, we also machine the seat post clamp into the billet.

Since Roark’s are 100% custom, this means that anyone can have an aero frame and be comfortable. Most aero bike offerings consist of a ‘slammed’ triathlon geometry that won’t be comfortable to most riders. We design and build bikes for anyone - young, old, small, large, triathletes, roadies, and male/female. With a Roark, now everyone can benefit from an aero frame.

ROARK _ COUPLER UPGRADE

Take it with you. A traveling Roark equipped with a coupling system allows an entire bike – up to 62cm – to be packed into a case that will pass as airline luggage. This avoids the airline surcharge normally associated with shipping bicycles. The coupler upgrade is a cost saving investment for the traveling cyclist. Since the airline surcharge is avoided, the coupler upgrade will essentially pay for itself within 8-10 flights. In addition, imagine the simplicity of wheeling around a 26 x 26 x 10 hard shell case instead of the alternative large and bulky cases.

Two titanium S & S couplers are seamlessly welded into the tubes for an exact, positive connection every time. Amazingly, the coupled bike rides exactly like a comparable standard frame. No compromise in performance with only a 300 gram weight penalty. Couplers can be added to any of our frames; Classic, Aero, Full Aero, Track, Cyclocross or Touring.

A Roark coupler upgrade includes everything that is required to get you traveling; couplers, case, cable splitters, spanner wrench, tool kit, saddle bag, mini pump, custom cut and labeled frame covering, and colored instructions. Most importantly, customers will receive an in factory “packing session” where we will show you how to disassemble, pack, and then reassemble your bike.

The factory direct story. It’s not a mystery or a marketing ploy that you can’t find a Roark Custom Titanium Bicycle sitting on the floor at your local bike shop. We only build Roark’s per request, so you won’t find inventory even at the factory.

Every Roark bicycle is custom built. They always have been, and they always will be. The only way to design and craft a custom instrument, specific to the rider, is through direct dialogue. This brings a consumer to engineer understanding, if you will.

We think this direct dialogue is the best aspect of the Roark Experience. There’s no middleman or bike shop to distract from the one-on-one relationship. Every customer will talk directly to the craftsmen who will be designing and creating their next dream.
